Breast Cancer in Older People

My 86 year old mother recently was diagnosed with breast cancer. A year ago I would have been totally freaked out but I have been working for the TV news show Your Cancer Today. I found out a couple things that was very interesting. Cancer in the elderly does not grow as fast as in young people. I was informed she was probably not going to die from cancer because of her age. I also had seen a number of cancer survivors on the show and this also helped me deal with what was happening with my mother.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with older people and cancer?
